The test was passed without any complaints or remarks.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fai.ag\/fai-air-ambulance\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.fai.ag\/fai-air-ambulance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FAI<\/a> has installed the <a href=\"https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/epiguard\/epishuttle\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/epiguard\/epishuttle\/\">EpiShuttle<\/a> in the Bombardier Challenger 604 on a Spectrum Aeromed MedBase with a fixed adaption to a <a href=\"https:\/\/spectrum-aeromed.com\/air-medical-equipment\/custom-equipment-and-accessories\/patient-loading-system-manual\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/spectrum-aeromed.com\/air-medical-equipment\/custom-equipment-and-accessories\/patient-loading-system-manual\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spectrum Aeromed Cargo Stretcher<\/a>, they no longer considered the EpiShuttle to be \u201cloose equipment\u201d compared to other mobile medical equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to this FAI wanted to obtain an STC for the CL-600-2B16 aircraft that included the EpiShuttle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u2013 We are glad to see that FAI has obtained STC for the CL-600-2B16 aircraft, an excellent aircraft for the transfer of infected patients with the EpiShuttle. We appreciate all time and resources the brilliant team at FAI Air Ambulance has put into the certification process. This shows that the EpiShuttle meets the requirements for an STC.<\/p><cite>Ellen Cathrine Andersen, EpiGuard CEO<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/epiguard\/wp\/content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3965\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/2-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/2-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ekergroup.dev07.dekodes.no\/content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/2021\/11\/2.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"is-style-ts-title-xxs\">Passed comprehensive testing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>FAI in coordination with EASA (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.easa.europa.eu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">European Aviation Safety Agency<\/a>) and a development company defined the requirements for the STC and necessary test procedures was developed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u2013 The EpiShuttle went through comprehensive and challenging tests during the certification process. All the test procedures were carried out without any complaint and the STC was issued and granted by the EASA, says <\/p><cite><em>Nico Raab, Medical Operations Manager in FAI Air Ambulance<\/em><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>The EpiShuttle had to undergo three different tests during the process, flammability test, rapid decompression test and patient evacuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flammability test examined how easily the built-in material ignited, how quickly they burn and how they react when burned. The tests showed that there was neither combustion or smelting or drop formation in the test bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Second, they tested the behavior of the EpiShuttle in the event of a sudden drop in pressure, a so-called rapid decompression test. In the event of a sudden drop in pressure in the aircraft, it must be ensured that all components can withstand the forces acting in order to avoid contamination of the environment. The behavior of the EpiShuttle where tested and simulated in a pressure chamber in an approved test laboratory. The test showed no damage or functional restrictions on the components of the EpiShuttle nor the attachments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The last test the device had to undergo was a patient evacuation. According to specifications, it had to be possible to evacuate a patient within 90 seconds in an emergency. During the test the patient was evacuated by FAI employees within 56 second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the employees and the device had completed all the test, EASA concluded that it met all the requirements and without any complaints.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FAI Air Ambulance invested a total of \u20ac 57,000 in the individual test procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>\u2013 The certification make way for STC on the CL-600 on other continents as well it also shows that it is possible for other companies and aircrafts to obtain an
